Protecting what we value. Building what we need.

Over the past term, I’ve worked to protect what makes Ward 1 a great place to live, work and call home while making responsible decisions for our future. I’m seeking re-election to continue that work, strengthening our community, investing wisely and building on the progress we’ve made together.

About me

Scugog has been my home for the past 12 years. I grew up on a beef farm in Eastern Ontario, and now live on a small farm west of Greenbank. I have a job in the city were I look after relationship management for a pension plan, working with employers, unions, and plan members. Helping ensure workers have access to good pensions aligns with my values and beliefs, as does the work I do as your Ward 1 Councillor. I like to understand different perspectives, and work towards solutions that benefit everyone.

How I work

I approach every decision with a view to financial sustainability and community improvement. I look for solutions that are fiscally responsible, that advance economic development, that respect our heritage, and that safeguard our natural environment. My focus is on strengthening our local economy, supporting our vibrant culture and preserving the natural beauty that makes Scugog so special.

Key Issues

Financial Management

The Township needs to live within its means. We need fewer consultants, and more focus on outcomes.

Port Perry Fairgrounds

The fairgrounds must be permanently protected as a park and site for the Port Perry Fair.  Click to read more.

Rural Sustainability

Local regulation must address rural needs and realities, and not create barriers to agricultural operations.

Development and Progress

Development can improve our Township - or exploit it.  I know the difference. We need better decisions.
